OUR STORY

NCL London was conceptualised in 2013 in response to the changing landscape in architecture and construction.
Our unique approach is geared towards stripping out complexity and costs, and focusing on driving results.
Founded by Rowena Preiss who brings a unique wealth of experience from both the independent sector and the multinational.

Key to our projects is the longevity of any installation maintaining a post completion watching brief for 5 years. Why?

BACKGROUND

ROWENA PREISS
FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR
NCL LONDON
A fresh approach to lighting where anything is possible.

Rowena Preiss, the Founder and Director of NCL London, graduated with a 1st Degree (Hons) in Product Design at Central St Martins and went on the complete a further Masters Degree in the Business of Design, also at CSM.
Rowena began her career as a product designer creating light fittings for the Conran store in London, igniting an interest in lighting spaces, she spent the next 10 years in pure design as a lighting designer, working for three well know independent lighting design consultancies.
Rowena went on to establish a career within a multinational corporation as the Creative Director of Philips Lighting in the UK. During her ten year period at Philips she initiated a new collaborative approach, always pushing the boundaries of possibilities and technology development, she has been responsible for delivering many globally recognised lighting solutions, including the O2, National Theatre, Westfield Stratford, Selfridges and many more, ranging from hotel chains, retail groups, olympic venues and even the Ministry of Defence.
Since graduating from Central St Martins Rowena has always maintained a connection with the University and continues to collaborate and support, encouraging a challenging and thought provoking ethos.
